    The poem references four sidekicks: Gabby, Pat, Pancho and Andy. George 'Gabby' Hayes and Pat Brady appeared in many Roy Rogers films; Pat Buttram was a long time sidekick to Gene Autry; Pancho (Leo Carillo) was the sidekick to the Cisco Kid; and Andy Devine appeared in many Roy Rogers films and was sidekick to Wild Bill Hickock.
