                   Gordon Lightfood (1938- )

        The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

First Line:   The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down

The Edmund Fitzgerald sank November 10, 1975. It's
twenty-nine crew members ranged in age from twenty-one to
sixty-three.

Lightfoot's song appeared on his 1976 album Summertime
Dream
. As such, it is still protected by copyright and should
not be printed out or stored in any permanent form without
permission of the copyright holder. The six and a half minute
song spent twenty-one weeks on the American pop chart,
reaching number two. The song's lyrics, the history of the
